Second: GST is added if the total money the society earns from its services in a year is more than Rs. 20 lakhs.

However, maintenance fees for affordable housing projects are free from GST. This rule is for projects that offer basic features and have smaller homes.

How Are Maintenance Charges Calculated in a Township?

By Square Foot: In this style, the fees are based on the size of the flat. People with larger apartments pay more, and those with smaller ones pay less. This system is considered fair and is used by many projects that follow RERA rules.
Equal Sharing: In this system, every resident pays the exact same amount for maintenance, regardless of how big their apartment is. This method can only be used if most of the people living there agree to it.
